Brian J McGourty, O.D.

Dr. Brian McGourty established Eyecare Associates of Nampa in 1978. His undergraduate work included a B.A. in biology from Rider University with a permanent K-12 science teaching certificate. His professional studies include a B.S. from Pennsylvania College of Optometry (now known as Salus University) as well as his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree in 1978. Dr. McGourty is a member of the American Optometric Physicians and the Idaho Optometric Physicians, our statewide association. He is a past president of the Nampa Kiwanis Club and served on the Nampa School District board of trustees from 1991-2000 including three years as board chair. After a thirteen year hiatus, Dr. McGourty was elected again to the Nampa School board in 2013 for a four year term.

Dr. McGourty is currently president of the board of directors at Witco, a non-profit organization serving developmentally disabled adults. He and his wife Vicki have resided in Nampa for over 35 years. They have two adult daughters, Jennifer and Kristi, and four grandchildren.

Dr. McGourty provides a full range of medical eye care services including surgery co-management, cataract and diabetic eye care, glaucoma treatment, contact lens and low vision care.

Dr. Landon Hagberg joined Eye Care Associates of Nampa, P.A in August 2011. His undergraduate work includes a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Spanish from Brigham Young University-Idaho 2006. Dr. Hagberg moved to Columbus, Ohio for his professional studies at Ohio State University’s College of Optometry where he graduated in 2010.

Dr. Hagberg’s training included several specialized areas of eye care. Following his schooling, he successfully managed the vision care needs for over 30 nursing homes in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is where he gained invaluable training/experience in managing diabetes, glaucoma, hypertension, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and many other ocular health conditions.

Dr. Hagberg is a member of the American Optometric Association, as well as the Idaho Optometric Physicians Association. He currently is the IOP Regional Director for Southwest A Region, and works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care by regularly attending continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of Dr. Hagberg’s dedication to continuing education that our patients receive the most modern and progressive vision care available.

Dr Hagberg provides exams, diagnoses, and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. He's well versed in fitting all contact lenses, especially new multi-focal soft contact lenses, and is trained in co-managing LASIK eye surgery. Currently, he successfully manages the vision care needs for nursing home facilities in the Treasure Valley.

Dr. Hagberg and his wife, Kara, moved back to Idaho in 2011. They now have three kids together: Bexley, Jensen, and Kardon. They enjoy camping, bike rides, hiking and attending sporting events together as a family.

Dr. Jonathan Hughes joined Eye Care Associates of Nampa in July 2016. He was born and raised in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School. After high school Dr. Hughes completed his undergraduate work with a B.S. in Biology at Brigham Young University. He then attended Pacific University College of Optometry for his professional schooling and graduated in 2014 with his Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree.

Dr. Hughes completed his medical rotations in several state of the art medical eye centers in Boise, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix. He is extensively trained in the diagnosis and management of diabetes, glaucoma, dry eyes, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and several other eye diseases. Dr. Hughes enjoys providing all aspects of primary eye care for your entire family in both the English and Spanish Languages and is fluent in both. He is current on all the latest advancements in medical eye care and contact lens options. Dr. Hughes is also trained in surgery co-management, including LASIK co-management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Idaho Optometric Physicians Association.

Dr. Hughes and his wife have two daughters, Olivia and Emma, and they are expecting twins at the end of 2016. They moved back to Idaho in 2014 and are excited to be back "home". They enjoy spending time together as a family playing sports, white-water rafting, and in the great Idaho Outdoors. They are also actively involved in the community and their local church.
